Last Wednesday my wife and I and a couple friends had the chance to see Henry Rollins at the Rococo Theater. Rollins is a very interesting individual and I mean that in a good way. He’s all or none – it’s either full bore or not at all. I respect that. The show/tour was called Provoked. It’s basically Henry Rollins talking about his past experiences, his passions, and his beliefs. Very entertaining. The show at first seems a bit scattered. But Rollins actually does a great job of keeping a storyline and intertwining different topics.

One story I have to tell because it’s hilarious. Rollins was visiting Lebanon (don’t ask, he visits crazy places for “vacation”) and had a local for his tour guide. Rollins ends up at the man’s house and the man’s wife fixes Rollins some Lebanese coffee. Being from America, Rollins throws back the seemingly small amount of coffee like it was a shot. He proceeds to do this 10 times! What he remembers next is sweating profusely, walking around into every room of the home and describing various topics in great detail using a complete made-up language! At the time with unheard of amounts of caffeine in his system, the gibberish coming out his mouth made perfect sense. He didn’t understand why the man and wife had looks of terror on their faces. Absolute comedy and of course much better than I can describe but worth sharing regardless.

I would definitely recommend checking out his tour schedule and taking a look.
